About the Configuration Workgroup (CWG)
The Configuration Workgroup (CWG) is an international user group of SAP customers
and partners, focused on the topic of product configuration as implemented in the Variant Configurator (VC) and in the SAP Internet Pricing and Configurator
(SAP IPC).
The main objectives of the CWG are:
-
Facilitate product configuration knowledge exchange between its members.
-
Influence SAP development plans by providing constructive feedback pertaining to the use and functionality of the SAP product configuration environment.
Main activities of the CWG are the bi-annual CWG General Session Meetings
and the work of the CWG Focus Groups. These groups hold workgroup meetings at the CWG general session to discuss their specifics topics and issues in more detail and they also have periodic conference calls to review detailed topics including prioritizing new
requirements for SAP development.
These ongoing discussion with the development team of the SAP IPC
product configurator are one of the main influence instruments of the CWG and also one of
the exclusive benefits for the CWG members. There is no other SAP user forum that can offer such a privileged access to SAP IPC and VC development.
The general session meetings are alternately held in Europe and in the United States.
Besides updates from SAP and application projects, special subjects
of general interest are investigated in detail.
CWG publishes a quarterly CWG Review, keeping the SAP configuration community updated on latest CWG and SAP developments, as well as providing valuable feature articles and regular columns.
The CWG offers membership to all commercial users of SAP IPC and
to configuration experts that are involved in implementation projects
of SAP IPC. Currently there are more than 400 CWG member companies.
