CWG Conference May 2006 in Salzburg, Austria

For the first time the European CWG Conference was not held in Walldorf close to the SAP Labs but in beautiful Salzburg. This allowed all attendess to stay at the same conference hotel and provide for even more networking and knowledge exchange opportunities for european CWG members.

A total of 76 customer, 32 consulting/software partner and 23 SAP employees attended the 3-day conference. The conference program had 3 focus topics: performance/benchmarking, 2D/3D visualization and best practices. A total of 36 presentations and workshops where held. Customers, who's projects or best practices where presented where: Still, Festo, Schneider Electric, Lam Research, Hewlett-Packard and Siemens. SAP employees from development, industries and consulting provided 13 presentations and workshops.

The feedback forms filled in by 47 of the attendees revealed that the following presentations and workshops where most appreciated: Front-End Solutions for the Pump and Fluid Handling Industry (Dave Brockway - Intelliquip), Introduction into the 5.0 IPC UI Architecture and Modification Concept (Thomas Machts - SAP AG), Configit'S VC/IPC Standalone Solution (Lars Hogstead - Configit, Peter Illing - Integrity).

Social and cultural highlights at the event were a musical presentation by SAP and a CWG board nightly orientation run.
