Using IPC on the CWG Sandbox | Configuration Workgroup

I got several inquiries about using IPC on the CWG sandbox so a blog on this topic is long overdue. Using the IPC UI instead of the CU50 is actually quite easy, just follow these steps:

1. Either run transaction SE38 and report RCUIPCSWITCH or use PMEVC to set the "IPC switch" for your KMAT. Please be careful and only set this switch to "VC in production, IPC in test" first as you can always go back. Please use the "IPC Only"setting only if you know what you're doing and only on your own KMATs (as it can not be undone).

2. Create a knowledge base and runtime version for your kmat (use transaction CU31 to create the knowledge base object, CU34 to create a runtime version).

3. Run transaction SE38 and execute report CFG_ERP_REQUEST_DB. Enter your knowledge base name and version.

4. Now go to CU50 and hit F8. You can try this now on WP-940 webphone kmat. You will get a pop-up asking whether you want to test using traditional CU50 or IPC:

5. If you select Yes, you will then get the IPC UI. Magic!
