Bio Chip Holder currently serves as a Senior Business Analyst with Kimball Office, a division of Kimball International, Incorporated.  He has held positions within Kimball such as Product Lifecycle Management Process Architect, Data Migration Lead, Master Data Team Leader, and Product Engineer.  Prior to his employment with Kimball, Chip was a Senior Application Consultant with IBM and focused on SAP Variant Configuration and Sales and Distribution modules.  Chip has 13 years experience with SAP.  He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Purdue University in Agricultural Systems Management.

Abstract This presentation is an overview of the approach that Kimball Office has taken to enable accurate specification of office furniture.  With a vast offering of fabrics, wood finishes, and customer specified options, using function modules offers a means of restricting the characteristic values to a valid domain given a set of complex restrictions.  The attendee will see the techniques used and the lessons learned during the development and implementation of this approach
