Meeting November 2004 in Philadelphia, USA

With 130 participants (and a growth of 30% in meeting participation) the spring user group meeting on product configuration with SAP was the largest meeting the Configuration Work Group (CWG) so far had. Among the 69 represented organizations there were 37 customer companies, The 24 represented partners companies were mostly smaller partners with strong expertise on product configuration, but there also were a few representatives from large partners. Besides the SAP development organization 7 SAP country organizations were present. With more than 380 members the CWG noticed a growth of 20% in the last 6 months – it now represents more than 150 organizations.
With 65 participants the autumn user group meeting on product configuration with the Internet Pricing and Configurator (IPC) and SAP Variant Configuration (VC) was the largest meeting the Configuration Work Group so far had in the United States. Besides 38 attendees from 21 customer companies 14 attendees from 9 partner organizations and 13 representatives from the SAP development organization and two SAP subsidiaries participated the CWG meeting. 23 attendees (35%) were new CWG members.

On May 8th and 9th the CWG was celebrating its 10th anniversary at the meeting in St. Leon-Rot. The motto of the meeting was: 10 years CWG - Pioneering the Advancement of Integrated Configuration Technology.

With more than 100 participants (from nearly 50 companies) this was the biggest CWG event so far. The general assembly on May 8th started with a retrospection on the work and acquisitions of the CWG presented by Dick Reimink, Steelcase. Then SAP board member Peter Zencke, responsible for mySAP CRM (incl. SAP IPC), gave a keynote presentation on the significance of product configuration and the future strategy of the SAP product suite.
