S/4 HANA Advanced Variant Configuration Engine
Over the past couple of years you have heard about a research project and an official project to define a new Advanced Variant Configuration Engine in the SAP S/4 HANA software. I'm very happy to share with you the first SAP promotional video on this topic, even if it DOESN'T have a Steelcase chair in it.. :-)

History of the Configuration Workgroup
The Configuration Work Group was founded in the Fall of 1993, under the name of the "American Configuration Work Group," (ACWG) as a consortium of manufacturers working together to influence thedevelopment of a standard, best-of-breed configuration solution. What they all had in common included:
What Happens in Vegas.......
Las Vegas 2016 CWG Conference is over... So let's start planning the spring conference... The voting is leaning towards Hamburg at this particular moment..
But I wonder... In Vegas we had around 115 people. On day 1, a question was asked of the audience; "How many people voted for Las Vegas?" I think 5 people raised their hands.. Not sure why this happened, but it does make me wonder about the whole "voting" thing..
Although, I admit... I'd rather do Hamburg than Barcelona... I like German beer better... :)
Design Validation of new VC app for S/4HANA on day 2
Dear CWG members,
SAP is working on the S/4HANA app for variant configuration. The design of the new app is still rough, and we would like to get end user feedback right from the beginning, so that we head in the right direction right away. Felix Haeusser and Uwe Betzin would like to validate the current design ideas on day 2 by doing usability tests with end users.

Variant Configuration and filling a hole in a wall
Hi,
You would think it is simple to fill a hole in a wall with a window, door, or combinations of these. What am I talking about?
Well we have just gone live with a VC Project in the Window / Door Industry in Aluminium and Timber. When I started on this project it required a proof of concept. Simple enough you would think and to some degree it was.
Proof of Concepts - important building block
