CWG Meeting April 2002 in Walldorf

The spring meeting 2002 of the Configuration Work Group has been held in Walldorf, Germany - at the SAP headquarters - on April 25th and 26th. With more than 90 participants this has been the largest CWG Meeting the CWG community has seen so far.

This time CWG members met on the motto:

"The Challenge of Modeling in an Integrated World"

Main topics have been:

  1. Integration with Standard Business Processes:
For all standard configuration problems the SAP Internet Pricing and Configurator (IPC) is fully integrated with standard business solutions provided by SAP. To further improve the integration of the advanced configuration capabilities (offered by SAP IPC) with reliable and effective back-end processes has been one of the main objectives of the Configuration Work Group since years.
  2. Modeling with the SAP IPC Product Modeling Environment:
SAP Internet Pricing and Configurator Product Modeling Environment (IPC-PME) is the new administration tool for product configuration data (options and dependencies) that is now available for evaluation by the Configuration Work Group. The CWG Modeling Competition - held in connection with the CWG meeting - enabled CWG members to get hands-on the SAP IPC-PME and to classify themselves as CWG Modeling Partners.

The meeting notes and presentations have been sent to all CWG members. The presentations are also available in the CWG user area of the SAP Service Marketplace. To access the SAP Service Marketplace registration (incl. authentication as SAP customer/partner) is required.
