Create Howto

To publish a howto navigate to "Create Content -> Howto". You don't need to enter a teaser but you have to enter a title, a body and select a Howto_Voc. The Howto_Voc is important. This selection decides who can view this howto. If you select i.e. "howto_admin" only users with roles admin have access to this howto. To get an overview of which role can access which Howto_Voc go to "Administer". There you have to select the "By module" tab. Then click "Access control by taxonomy" and use the tab "role based priveleges". To get faster to the overview you can use this link. Now you can see which role has the permission to access specific howtos.

Create new Howto_Voc (for new roles)

If you created a new role or if you want to make a howto for a role which isn't linked with a Howto_Voc yet, you have to create a new Howto_Voc. To do this first go to "Administer -> Content management -> Categories". Here click on "add terms" in the Howto_Voc row (link). Select a term name and submit. Now you have to specify which role can access this Howto_Voc. Do this on the "Access control by taxonomy"page (link).

Important: Be carefull on the "Access control by taxonomy"page. You have to consider that the new role has nowhere none selected (see screen below). Instead of none select nothing (CTRL + left mouse). Otherwise you will get an SQL error. 

If you have done this the last step is to configure in which view the howto appears. Views are the menu pointof thew of the howto menu entry. For example we want the howto to appear when we go to "Howto -> admin" you have to navigate to "Administer -> Site building -> Views". Search for the "Howto admin" row and click on edit. Under Access select the role you want the ability to the this view. Additionally you have to add the newly created term to the filter. Because we want the howto also to be listed on the Howto overview page you have to edit the Howto view the same way.
