Configuration of Class Type 300 for Engineering Change Management

PresenterChip Holder

BioSince implementing SAP in 1997, Kimball has encountered many obstacles when changing configuration models.  Changing characteristic values, characteristics within a class, and classification have all caused system errors, even when done with respect to a change master.  Areas where issues have occurred include open sales orders, open production orders, and shipping.  Kimball Office has completed a project wherein we were able to reduce the number of issues related to model changes by simply configuring the class type 300 for the appropriate object changes.  Attendees will gain insight into the business processes that were affected, the system configuration to support the various object type changes, and the discoveries made in the project.  This presentation will be especially useful for those implementing Variant Configuration and Engineering Change Management.
