| Abstract | SAP LO-VC product models are often developed and maintained for ERP-processes like quote and order processing, BOM explosion and routing. High-level-configuration with multiple levels is sometimes used to model complex products with KMATs inside KMATs. There are configure-to-order scenarios which go even further: solution configuration or also called application configuration. The difference lies in the ability to take into account not only a number of products and its characteristics but also the context of its usage like environmental and operating conditions. This requires additional knowledge and characteristics which model solution requirements. By reusing SAP LO-VC product models in external tools and adding solution knowledge, product models can be combined to application models. The software company encoway has developed a toolchain for supporting this process and will describe the benefit of this approach with an example of the Lenze company: the drive solution designer DSD, where drive solutions for different industries can be assembled based on information about the necessary customer process. The toolchain contains modules for the following tasks: • • Export of LO-VC product models • • Mapping for external usage of the product models • • Adding application/solution knowledge • • Testing the combined model • • Deployment of the model and additional data for external/offline usage |
